day trip to philly

although i’ve explored downtown philadelphia many times, my day trip on labor day felt unlike my other adventures. i took the train in the morning with no specific schedule or agenda, other than a craving for a good cheesesteak. this gave me a lot of flexibility in where to go and what to see. abby joined me as we began by walking around independence hall and park. we also tried to check out the reading terminal market by jefferson station, but it was unfortunately closed for the holiday.  next, we wandered past a local diner where we sampled the buffalo chicken cheesesteak- quite delicious. we then headed towards the water to spruce street harbor park to enjoy water ice in one of the many sitting ares and hammocks. before heading home, we sat down in washington square park to enjoy the weather and check out the backside view of independence hall. a few pictures from the day below.

thanks for the adventure, abby !!
