i, laura, briefly mentioned this show on an earlier post, but today i wanted to share a full post on my school’s annual fashion show: silver needle runway! i was fortunate enough to be on the creative team for the fashion show production class at marist. along with the communications and production team, we worked hard to plan a full-scale fashion show featuring student designs. we filmed various promotional videos as well as created an art installation for the middle of the runway, and a step-and-repeat photo opp, among many other things all semester! it was such an amazing show. if you want to watch it, you can still steam it here! and check out the playlist from the show (in order)!
a quick run down of the show: we hire professional models from modeling agencies in the city and all of the looks seen are were designed and made by real students (mostly seniors with some underclassmen pieces before). there is an application and interview process to get into the fashion show production class that is necessary if you want to be a part of it all. in january we began class with a theme already picked by the senior directors of the class. from there, we dove all in with planning this huge event! thousands of viewers watch online and students, industry professionals and vips, family, faculty and staff, press, alumni, and prospective students attend the event near campus.
i’m so happy that i was able to be on the creative team as the visual/audio coordinator, meaning i helped a lot with the music in the show and made sure that all things done by our class was aligned with our show’s theme of “digital utopia.” it was an amazing opportunity and so much fun to be a part of such a sensational event. i cannot believe the show is over- i’m so sad! it was such a blast to create at this level. i feel so blessed to have been trusted with bring this fashion show to life.
snr32, i love you! until next year.
